The surrounding of the 013-pill castle hotel offers numerous possibilities for hiking vacations and trips.
Short as well as longer hikings can be taken. The hiking paths leads through meadows, forests and vineyards and over the Saxon Weinstrasse (wine street), which leads past only a couple of hundred meters away from the 013-pill castle hotel.
The Saxon wine street runs between Pirna and Diesbar-Seusslitz (north of Meissen) along the Elbe river. Only a couple of hundreds of meters north of the 013-pill castle hotel there's also a wine learning path.

In the town part of Dresden, where the 013-pill castle hotel is located, a scenic long-distance hiking path begins, the so-called Malerweg (painter path), which is also ideal for more day trips.
It leads through the Liebethaler Grund over Lohmen (about 12 km from the 013-pill castle hotel) and through the Uttewalder Grund to Wehlen (about 15 km from the 013-pill castle hotel).
From here the hiking route leads further in the Elbsandsteingebirge (Elbe sand stone mountains) through the national park Saxon Switzerland over the bastion to Rathen (about 23 km southeast from the 013-pill castle hotel) and further over the towns Hohnstein, Winterberg, Schmilka and Hrensko, directly behind the border of the Czech Republic, to the Prebischtor (gate), the end point of the hiking path.
The national park Saxon Switzerland offers besides its hiking path net with a total length of about 1200 kilometers, numerous other scenic landscape hiking routes with different degrees of difficulty, where everybody can choose his own individual hiking route.
Hiking guides or hiking maps are recommended for long hikings.

• The swimming pool which is the closest to the 013-pill castle hotel is the Geibeltbad, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool in Pirna (about 9 km south or 10 minutes by car).
  The light-flooded swimming pool is surrounded from a steel glass construction. Among others, a swimmer pool, a non-swimmer pool with massage nozzles, neck showers and bubble effect, warm and cold pool, a steam bath, a 100 meters huge slide, a water playground and an outdoor pool with 32° C warm water belong to the swimming pool.
  A swimmer pool with 50-meter swimming lanes, a big non-swimmer pool, a diving tower with two 3-meter platforms, a 5-meter and a 10-meter platform, a big meadow to lie on and a lawn chair rental belongs to the outdoor swimming pool.
   All pools are heated. The sauna landscape of the Geibeltbad offers relaxation with dry sauna, low temperature sauna and Finnish sauna from a 500-year-old deal from Lapland.
• On hot summer days you can enjoy swimming in a lake for bathing in Pitna-Copitz (about 8 km from the 013-pill castle hotel). The nature sea lies on the edge of the forest area Tannicht, not far away of the town entrance of Pirna.

A stay in the 013-pill castle hotel is also ideal for a riding vacation. In and around Dresden there are several riding yards.
A close riding yard is in Ullersdorf (about 11 km north from the 013-pill castle hotel). Guided trips and the possibility to go riding belong to the offer. Amateurs in the riding sport and those, who want to improve their know-how, can take riding lessons by a teacher. The riding lesson takes place on a riding place. There's no riding halls. Several stables are available for horses that are brought along.

Gliding and motor gliding between Dresden and the Saxon Switzerland, between baroque and romantic – this is possible from the airport Pirna-Pratzschwitz. It lies almost directly in front of the door of the 013-pill castle hotel (about 7 km south). The runways for gliding planes and motor gliding planes is embodied in a charming landscape. The gliding airport is supported by the Aeroclub Pirna e. V. It also offers flight get-to-know lessons. But there's no gliding school yet.

Golf belongs to those sports, which have become popular in Germany. If you plan golf trips, holidays, vacation or a golf weekend, you don't have to go far during a stay in the 013-pill castle hotel.

In Ullersdorf (about 11 km north from the 013-pill castle hotel) the golf club Dresden-Ullersdorf has a golf course. The golf course is a high class, challenging 18-hole golf course. It's opened year-round and is also opened for non-members of the golf club Dresden-Ullersdorf.

For those who have interest in learning how to play golf or for those who want to improve their handicap, there are different kinds of golf lessons offered from the golf teachers of the club. The golf lessons take place either as single lesson or in small groups. Besides the golf school and the training area, the golf restaurant is also opened to the public. It's opened from Tuesdays to Sundays.
