Danube River boat cruise

From and to Kelheim at Altmühl River and Danube River there are Danube River boat cruises available daily during the summer months. From Kelheim, there are boat cruises through the Danube River breakthrough to the Weltenburg monastery and back. On the Danube River, there are also party boats on which different festivities like birthday parties, company outings, wedding celebrations and much more can be celebrated.

Canoeing on the Altmuhl River canoe tour tours vacation hike

The Altmuhl River is one of Bavaria's slowest rivers. In the headwater, it slowly runs through a meadow landscape, in the underflow, it runs through a picturesque and narrow valley.

The Altmuhl River is not only a paradise for canoeing or canoe hikes because of its cozy character, but it is also perfectly developed. There are numerous signposted starting- and stopping points.

Several-hours cruises with the canoe through the Altmuhl River valley are possible just as canoe-hiking in the course of full-day cruises or several-days cruises.

From Gunzenhausen to Dietfurt-Toging, you can canoe down the Altmuhl River in the course of a canoeing-tour in 5 day-stages of 20 to 25 kilometers each. The last part of Dietfurt-Toging to the confluence of the Altmuhl River into the Danube River at Kelheim (about 33 km stream course) is less attractive because here, the Rhine-Main-Danube-River-channel was built.
