The hotel lies in the nature park Rhein-Taunus in the Niederwald forest, where there's numerous hiking paths with scenic charming hiking routes and a total length of about 50 km. During the hiking tour through the Niederwald forest banks, grilling places, lawns, viewing points and playgrounds invite to linger for a while. Even though the hiking paths are well signposted, a regional hiking map is very helpful for choosing an individual hiking route.

If you've planned a bike vacation, you'll find wide good conditions to go biking. Apart from a couple of segments, the bicycle paths are well built on the left and right side of the Rhine river. The biker is forced to ride on the busy highway B 42 on the Rhine river on a stretch of about 5 km exactly here between Rudesheim and Assmannshausen.

Nevertheless there are wonderful and comfortable bicycle trails to ride from Rudesheim. They lead Rhine river downstream on both sides of the Rhine river through the romantic middle Rhine river valley with its picturesque towns, medieval castles and the Lorelei rock in direction Koblenz / Coblence, Rhine river upstream on the right bank side through the Rhinegau / Rheingau in direction Wiesbaden and Rhine river upstream on the left bank side through Rheinhessen in direction Mainz.

Of course, round trips are also possible with the bike. In order to change from one Rhine river side to the other, you have to use one of the Rhine river ferrys, because in the area between Mainz and Koblenz / Coblence there are no bridges. A car ferry drives from Rudesheim near the Rudesheim train station to Bingen. The bike tour could, for example, lead from Bingen on the left Rhine river side downstream through Trechtingshausen and past the castles Rheinstein, Reichenstein and Sooneck to Niederheimbach (about 12 km) with the castle Heimburg. From Niederheimbach you can set over to Lorch with the ferry. The bicycle trail from Lorch guides back to Assmannshausen (about 8 km). If you want to skip the ride between Assmannshausen and Rudesheim (about 5 km) using the highway B 42, you can also take a trip back with the passenger boat for example.

If you're looking for more pretentious bike trails, you'll go to the Rhinegau / Rheingau or in the Taunus mountains. Mountain biking is also possible here. It is advisable to get a regional bicycle hiking map for a bike hiking or a bike tour through these regions.

The Asbach-bath is an open air swimming pool in idyllic surrounding in the Rudesheimer Rhine river park, near the Rhine river bank. On hot summer days it invites to bathing fun and cooling. • Wagon trip through the Kammerforst with view to the castle Reichenstein near Trechtingshausen on the middle Rhine river and castle Sooneck near Niederheimbach (about 135 min, about 9 km)
• Horse wagon trip Rheintal-Niederwald (about 135 minutes, about 9 km), also possible in combination with a wine tasting at the winery Weingut Siegfried in Rudesheim on the Rhine river in an own wine cellar for groups up to about 30 people.

After the wagon trip, the countrified guest tavern or the garden inn invites to a cooling refreshment or a starching meal. Warm dishes, farm snacks or tasty cake offers the right thing for everybody.
